Bio: Sue Brown, formerly a University of Nebraska Extension Educator, was in charge of Family Consumer Science for 37 years and owned Calico Cottage in Hastings, Nebraska, for 35 years. Piecing, hand and machine embroidery, machine quilting, and working with learners are her joy in life.  Sue enjoys doing bus tours, retreats, and quilt programs for guilds as well as sharing her projects at the county and state fair.  She currently serves as Adams County Needlework Superintendent and State Fair Textile Arts Superintendent, and she is the treasurer for the Nebraska State Quilt Guild. She enjoys teaching quilting and handwork tips to all who are willing to learn.  Sue’s husband, Arlen, is also a piecer and quilter.  Her extended family includes her daughter and son-in-law and two grandchildren, Noah and Ellie. Sue is currently teaching a new generation of quilters as Ellie loves to do crafting and piecing with her grandmother. She shares quilting tips on her Facebook page, SuzieQ’s Sewing Tips.
