One Block Wonder
Would you like to know how to use one fabric to create an entire quilt? One Block Wonder is all the rage right now, and it is a fun, simple technique! I’d love to teach you all there is to know about creating a One Block Wonder (or a Four Patch Posy Stack and Whack) quilt. It’s as simple as 6 repeats of a great fabric, a straight ruler, flat head flower pins, and a 60 degree ruler. Leave the rest up to me, and I will have you “stacking and whacking” in just one day!
How to choose fabric: Look for a print that has a lot going on. Lots of colors and variety in the print works so well. A fabric that has some background areas without print but not too much negative space also works well. If you want to know what a certain fabric might look like as a One Block, here is an absolutely fabulous website where you can upload a photo of the actual fabric and see what it will look like cut and made into the hexies.
