2026 will mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, specifically the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. This milestone is also known as the United States Semiquincentennial.
The Lincoln Quilters Guild plans to celebrate by joining together to make a patriotic themed quilt. This beautiful quilt will be a product of member contributions. The "SemiQuiltennial Quilt" patterns are available at the link below.
There are 17 different patterns for stars included. You can print the copies of the blocks you would like to make, or we will have some printed copies available on Guild night. There will be some packets of red, white and blue fabrics available as well. The blocks will all be 6 1/2" and finish to 6". The quilt blocks are due in November so that we can complete the quilt over the winter in time to be ready for National Quilting Day in March. This will be a raffle quilt, and the proceeds will go to a Veterans organization in our area.
