Chris has been involved in quilting since 1997 and has filled many roles in our guild over the years. Her many achievements include:
- Presentation of the September 2021 LQG meeting program, during which the guild members were entertained witih a wonderful trunk show displaying many of her lovely quilts.
- As a teacher of quilting, a lifelong skill, Chris has served as a role model for the Bryan Alternate School teen mothers group, to which our guild donated funds for the purchase of sewing machines. One of those moms now has four children, and she still makes quilts for them every Christmas.
- As a devoted member of the guild, Chris has been an important participant in helping with 4 of the guild auctions. Her tireless work and countless hours helped to create innovative marketing ideas to boost sales to benefit LQG.
- As an excellent example of Chris's support of the guild's mission to “afford the general public to appreciate quilting and allied arts”, Chris shares her multifaceted concepts of quilting that go well beyond needle and thread. Using beads, metal, ribbon, and glass, she creates unique and stunning visual artwork to share with the quilting world and viewing public.
- In addition to the Lincoln Quilters Guild, Chris is a supporter of the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, a member of SAQA, and a past member of the Midwest Fiber Arts Alliance.
- Exhibitions Chris's quilting art include:
- Mancuso Show in Denver, Colorado (won the Best Use of Color award)
- Paducah museum gallery displayed one of her painted quilts as a featured exhibit
- Lux Center for the Arts in Lincoln
- Regular quilt exhibits at the Burkholder project in Lincoln
- Chris has shown quilts at the Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha, The Road to California, and at Quilting in the Tetons.
- Multiple AQS shows, including Des Moines, Paducah, and Arizona ( where in 2016 she won first place in Modern Quilts), have included quilts created by Chris.
- Bryan Medical Center has two of Chris's quilts on permanent display and another of her quilts is included in the permanent collection at the Beatrice library. In addition to organizational displays, many private collectors are proud to own one of her beautiful quilts.
